ThePanpiper's mission is to develop and foster a strong community spirit and a partnership, by promoting organized educational, social entertaiment services and other activies to help promote the steelpan and prepare interested students and clients for a meaningful and sustainable future. 

As a bona file member of the Steelpan fraternity, I am willing, ready and prepared, to assist in any effort to develope a viable local and global community partnership in relationship to the Steelpan Performing Arts, Science and Technology. Steelpan communities must be able to work towards a united state of affairs for the betterment of Steelpan performing arts and technology world-wide.

Pan from the People

A cultural change can be caused by different changes in the society's environmental. also with changes and the community resistance to social stratification. How they used material waste?

The inventions of containers to transport foods and other liquids played an important role, with a deep relationship to the European Military and especially their Navy long journeys accross the oceans. Napolean Bonaparte rewards in France for container improvision led to the early contains as bottles, then Peter Druand first panent of Tin Pans and Cans  in 1810.

This can be seen as an impetus, because, the Sailors needed food on the journey. "Biscuit Pans", Milk Pans, Oil Cans.  Portraying "Sailors ah Shore" in  carnival in Trinidad was the norm for recycling waste materials. Yes! beating Pans without notes on the surface was pure sweet rhythmic estacy for the people as far back as the Muharram Massacare in San Fernando in 1884.

The evolution of "Pan" a musical instrument, came to be made from a steel drum was a ground breaking invenion in relationship to Mechanical Engeering, Physics and Metalurgy for Musical instruments inventions. Since, the 6th century BC when Pythagoras the "Greek Father of Mathematics", made popular and re-established the  cycle of fifths in musical theory; the Steel Pan is the only musical instrument comfigured to follow this theory in the systematic sequence of intervals. This musical theory, the circle of fifths is a  visual representation of  the 12 tones of the chromatic scale.

Mr Anthony Williams is the first person to use the theory in a practical manner as he developed the "Spider-web Pan"  in Trinidad. Just. because this extraordinary vision and creativity and discovery, Mr Williams deserves to be nominated for the Nobel Peace prize in Physics for re-stating the Pythagean theory on a discarded steel drum, creating a sustainable future from waste material and with sustainability. 

After the invention of Steel Pans the World was presented with a New Symphony and Ochestra in music. The Steelpan inventions created a new frontier for musical instrumentation for the 20th century and beyond. This is only one of the many different reasons, why so many people worldwide are drawn to this unique idophone instrument. ©

I pay tribute to the most unique musical instrument invented, since the

6 century BC. where Greek history gives credit to Pythagoras for calculating intervals in musical tones and notes.

Our Steelpan Inventors and Innovators are first in over 2000 years to follow the Pythagorean usingt of intervals of the cycle of 4th & 5ths,

The basic idea of using a flat surface of a metal drum to experiment, therefore, creating a unique musical instrument this lead to a new ground breaking descovery of a new symphonic and orchestra tonal quality.

Government of the Republic of Trinidad andTobago

An Act of Parliament is needed.

An open letter to the Honourable Prime Minister and Minister of Arts and Culture. Please foward an Official Bill; an Act of Parliament declaring the Steelpan Our National Emblem and musical instrument.

In 1962 the government did not declare the Steel Pan our National Instrument, subsequently, the Goverment must pass an Act of Parlimentofficially declaring Steel Pan, an Emblem and along with stature of the National Symbols. The Steel Pan Instrument must be recognize for it level of attainment in the modern world. The response of our creativity,cultural freedom and oppression, therefore, is as revelant as a symbol of Freedom in T&T as is the Statue of Liberty to the USA.

Recent updates shows the Steelpan in cluded in the emblem act regularlations of 2019, under the office of the president of the republic of Triniand Tobago. NO Declaration in the amendment.  I am researching the Hansards for the facts. Since the National Emblem is now, in the portfolio of the President.
